I guess this is where that awkward silence in the conversation is.
How are you doing? How are this year's artists doing? How's Lake Oswego in general?
I'm fine; a bit stressed out with all the work I have to do. I really enjoy my physics class, but the calculus is wearing me down. (I only have three classes, but they're a full 15 credit-hours, so I'm pretty busy.) I've met so many amazing people up here (and some not so amazing ones, but that's life) and there're so many fun things to do in Seattle. This is an amazing city!
Campus is beautiful right now: all the cherry trees are blossoming. The whole quad fills up with people: taking pictures, sunning, playing frisbee, catching up on sleep.
(I'm glad I was able to take pictures this (relatively) nice. I think that, if I hadn't taken AP Art with you and done the whole photography section of the portfolio, I wouldn't have known my way around a camera.)
(Well, maybe one of those disposable cameras. I could use those.)
This is the view from my dorm room. I'm in a triple, which isn't that fun, but the room is on the larger side and has floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows that look onto Union Bay and Mt. Rainier.
I've also been keeping up with my art! When I have the time. I've done a series of hand-painted fish-themed postcards (simple designs, easily done, various colors and patterns and sometimes with inks) that I'm fond of. I sold a few and sent a few. I also am doing a whole bunch of Warhol-ish, pop-art-ish self-portraits: those are super fun. Drawing the same thing multiple times isn't that fun, but experimenting with different color combinations is the best.
