A question:

Cylon Centurion
I was thinking about my concentration, y'know, just deciding what I would do.  Medical studies of aliens.  Concept diagrams for spaceships.  Portraits of cyborgs.  And that's when it hit me.  The question.  The all-important query: If a Cylon and a Borg became involved in an intense love affair and had a kid, could you call the kid a Cy-Borg cyborg?

Both the Cylon and the Borg would have some human/human-ish organic parts, and it's the melding of organic and non-organic elements that define a "cyborg", so that means the Cylon is a cyborg and the Borg is a cyborg so therefore their offspring would be a cyborg and then we could combine the parents' model names - Cylon and Borg- to create Cy-Borg.

It's cute.  It also leads to questions of what to call the kid.  Both species have numerical designations rather than real names (although the Cylons who work undercover have to make up names - like Leoben and Sharon Valerii/Agathorn).  The Cylons just have different models and so they call the individual units by model number, which means there's thousands of Number Eights and thousands of Number Sixes and so on.  The Borg have a more complicated system of "Individual Unit Number of Squad Number", like Seven of Nine (she's the seventh member of a squad that's made up of nine other Borg).  So would their kid be Number Two of Four or something?

Also, how would that family unit work?  The Borg are a hive mind and there are infinite copies of each model of Cylon.  Can there be a truly monogamous relationship, or would all the Number Whatever models of the Cylon have a great big orgy with the whole Borg Collective?  And would they live on a Basestar or a Cube?

Questions, questions....

(And for anyone who's wondering - the Cylons are from Battlestar Galatica, a truly amazing show that everyone should watch [though it's only the new series that has sexy human models] and the Borg are from the Star Trek series The Next Generation, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine.)
